Williams Sonoma/ Le Creuset

Photography: Christine Schmidhofer, Styling by Studio Marcus Hay

Back In January, Studio Marcus Hay was very lucky to be escaping the harsh New York winter for a taste of California, shooting again with Williams Sonoma. One of our many shots was this image of Le Creuset in the fabulous new Lapis blue currently being used on the Williams Sonoma website.

According to Wikipedia,  Le Creuset was founded in the French town of Fresnoy-le-GrandAisnePicardy, a strategic location at the crossroads of transportation routes for iron, coke and sand. Armand Desaegher (a casting specialist) and Octave Aubecq (an enameling specialist) opened their foundry in 1925. That same year, the first French Oven was produced, laying the foundation for what is now an extensive range of cookware and kitchen utensils. To manufacture their cast iron cookware, the Le Creuset foundry uses standard sand casting methods. After hand finishing, items are sprayed with at least two coats of enamel. The enamel becomes resistant to damage during normal use.

I have always loved Le Creuset and own many pieces myself, they are such a pleasure to cook in.

This time I got to shoot with Photographer Christine Schmidhofer who was a delight to work with.
